OLYMPIA — Harlequin Productions performs Neil Simon’s bittersweet comedy, “I Ought to be in Pictures, which opens Friday.

The play runs through Feb. 9 at the Harlequin Theater, 202 4th Ave. E.

General admission tickets are $35. senior/military, $32, and  student/youth $20.

The play involves Hollywood scriptwriter Herb, who is living a relatively quiet life with his on-again-off-again love, Steffy, until the teenage daughter he hasn’t seen for 16 years knocks on his bungalow door.

With humor and pathos, Neil Simon unwinds the tangled emotions and sometimes-painful humanity of this unlikely trio, as Herb decides to take another stab at fatherhood and hopefully this time, get it right.
