SHELTON - A Belfair man with a troubled past will stand trial over accusations that he molested a minor.

On June 4, 2019, Douglas Wood was booked into the Mason County jail on charges of 2nd degree molestation of a child. Wood’s trial is set to begin on September 3, 2019. According to court documents, Wood pled ‘not guilty’ to the charges against him, but this isn’t the first time he’s been accused of a sex crime.

On January 2, 2018 and November 20, 2017, Wood was booked into the Mason County jail on two separate charges of third degree rape of an adult. According to court documents, Wood was also accused of 3rd degree rape of a child in April of 2015 and 3rd degree molestation of a child in December of 2015.

However, according to a background check on Washington State’s criminal background database, Wood was not convicted of any of the prior crimes he was accused of.

The only reason he hasn't been charged for the two in 2015 is because he is still going to court for them. Then molested another child in the meantime 🤬

Not sure all this is correct.
