MATLOCK - A man and his fiancee are in custody after an early morning standoff Thursday morning.
Mason County Chief Ryan Spurling told iFIBER ONE News authorities were dispatched to Beeville Road at roughly 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning for a report of a man allegedly assaulting his parents.
The man reportedly hid in his trailer with his children and allegedly refused to come out.
Authorities reportedly saw weapons inside the residence and called the SWAT Team to arrive on scene to assist,Spurling stated.
The standoff ended without any injuries, and the with the man was taken into custody without incident. He is facing charges including assault, child endangerment, and felon in possession of firearms.
The man's fiancee was also taken into custody. Spurling stated he was not at liberty to release the identity of both suspects.
”Children are safe. Weapons also recovered," the Mason County Sheriff's Office stated.
