OLYMPIA — Two teens and a young adult were arrested Sunday morning after a bungled Saturday armed robbery at a medical marijuana shop in Olympia.
All three were charged with first-degree armed robbery, an Olympia Police spokesman said. The owner of the business received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Olympia Police Department reports that about about 5 p.m. Saturday a man armed with a handgun walked into the shop in the 2100 block of Black Lake Boulevard Southwest. The suspect demanded that the owner behind a plexiglas window let him entry into the business.
Lt. Paul Lower said the business owner ran to the back of the store and the armed suspect jumped through an opening in the glass, chasing the victim.
The business owner spray the armed man with pepper spray and the suspect dropped his gun but picked up a baseball bat. Lower said the suspect took a swing at the owner.
The owner again sprayed the suspect and he picked up a golf club.
The suspect ran out of the business where a car with two 16-year-old suspects were waiting. The fled.
Lower said a video camera caught one of the 16 year olds waiting outside and the 19-year-old adult on camera. The vehicle was also identified, leading police to capture the three suspects by early Sunday morning.
