OLYMPIA – On Saturday, September 21, Ballet Northwest will hold open auditions at the Johansen Olympia Dance Center for roles in the Company’s 35th Anniversary production of the Nutcracker. The auditions are open to the community – boys and girls, men and women. The only requirement is that dancers are eight-years-old by August 31, 2019.

Ballet Northwest is a community-based performance group dedicated to promoting, teaching, and preserving the art of dance in Southwestern Washington. No previous dance experience is necessary to audition, and dancers from all dance studios are welcome to audition for Ballet Northwest’s Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker cast averages two hundred dancers. Performances take place from December 13 through December 22 at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts located in downtown Olympia, and feature professional sets, costumes, and guest artists.
