CROSBY — The Bear Creek Fire in Kitsap County south of Crosby near Northeast Bear Creek Dewatto Road is 100 percent contained as of 9 p.m. Monday night.

Department of Natural Resources Spokesperson Janet Pearce said the fire grew to 25 acres before being fully contained.

North Mason Fire, Central Mason Fire-Rescue, Mason County Fire District 3 and DNR first responded to the fire at 1:40 p.m. Monday.

Fire officials will continue to mop up hotspots throughout the day Tuesday.

Pearce said no structures were threatened and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
