SHELTON — The body of an unidentified man was found in Shelton’s Goldsborough Creek on Saturday and the cause of death is under investigation.

Shelton Police responded to a call from a kayaker at 2 p.m. reporting what appeared to be a body floating in Goldsborough Creek near the 200 block of Park Street.

Shelton Police Chief Darrin Moody said there were no signs of physical trauma. Police are waiting on proper identification from Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell before more information is released.

Police report that the preliminary investigation suggests the man could be one who was reported missing in March to Shelton Police. He was last seen in the downtown area.
