SHELTON — The City of Shelton announced Wednesday morning the appointment of Stephen Greer as the new municipal court judge, effective Jan 1.
Greer has more than 25 years of part-time judicial experience in municipal and district courts. He served 14 years in the Mason County District Court, specializing in mental health and substance abuse. He is also experienced in personnel and budget management.
As a judicial officer, Greer has presided over thousands of criminal and civil hearings, and over one hundred jury trials.
“I am looking forward to working as a team with court staff to serve the community as Shelton’s municipal court judge,” said Greer in a news release.
Greer holds a Bachelor of Criminal Justice from Seattle University, a Masters of Criminal Justice from Boston University, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Puget Sound.
Greer also serves as a volunteer mentor at the Kitsap County Youth Service Center.
