SHELTON (VIDEO) — The Economic Development Council of Mason County are helping educate Mason County residents on the potential dangers of summer wildfires. EDC of Mason County are putting on three Fire Prevention and Community Awareness forums at different locations across the county.

One forum will be at the Shelton Civic Center, one will be at the North Mason School District Board room in Belfair, and the third will be at Lake Cushman’s Mason County Fire District 18.

All three forums will run at the same time June 25, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. The three forums will be live-streamed by various media outlets.

EDC’s Jennifer Baria and Karin Leaf told iFIBER One News’s Jeff Slakey that a number of different fire personnel from across the region will speak at the event.

Residents will learn about number of different wildfire factors including the ‘Ready. Set’ Go’ evacuation preparedness, emergency shelter for pets and livestock, cause of wildfires and more.

Those attending will have a chance to ask firefighters and emergency responders specific questions about fire prevention.
