LACEY — "Pinky” the pig has been reunited with her family after wondering off the farm Monday and somehow ending up at the Safeway supermarket on Pacific Avenue.
Lacey Police Department reports that Officer Hunter Heim, working the graveyard shift, responded to a report of a “suspicious little piggy walking in front of the Pacific Avenue Safeway store."
After he leashed the friendly porker, the two “hammed it up” for the camera before they ventured to Thurston County Animal Services.
Facebook shares apparently came through, according to the post.
Lacey police explained how the errant pig got away.
"Pinky lives on a small family farm and is treated like the family dog,” Lacey Police stated in a Facebook post Thursday. "Pinky has room to roam and during her travels, pushed over a fence to escape. That fence has since been reinforced and Pinky is back enjoying her days on the farm."
