SHELTON — Police seek a suspect wanted in connection with a knife assault during a fight involving several men Sunday night at Loop Field.
Shelton police Capt. Mike Fiola reports that officers were dispatched to a large-scale fight the park, 1020 W. Franklin St.
Dispatch at 9:30 p.m. Sunday advised officers that a large group of men were throwing beer bottles at one another and that about 10 of them were physically fighting.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a victim who had been assaulted with a knife. The 36-year-old Shelton man was transported to Mason General Hospital for a laceration to his arm. The injury was not life threatening.
The victim was allegedly intoxicated and unable to explain to officers who had assaulted him or any of the circumstances of the fight, Fiola said.
There is no information available on the suspect at this time, the said.

“Shelton PD will be focusing on the sponsored sporting activities at Loop Field in the near future,” said Fiola. “We will be increasing patrols and strictly enforcing liquor laws at all City parks.”
