LACEY — Significant roadwork started Monday and will last through the end of the week as City of Lacey crews continue major construction work on College Street SE as part of the Super T Pavement Rehabilitation project.

The first phase includes re-paving College Street between Mullen Road and 37th Street and the Providence Medical building (just south of the roundabout). Work will take place from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. Expect major delays, at times. City officials recommend residents use alternate routes, if possible.

July 8-9: Work will include Grinding top 3” of asphalt. 

July 10: Crews will work on traffic loops.

July 11-12: Paving. College Street will be closed completely between Mullen Road and 37th Street and the Providence Medical Building (just south of the roundabout).

City crews will have a flagger stationed on College Street at Corporate Center during the closure. They will stop cars and only allowing traffic that is going to Providence or one of the apartments in the area. No through traffic will be allowed.

July 13: Installing traffic buttons, optional detour route.

Residents that live on 40th Avenue will have local access during most closures, but can expect major delays.
