Shelton, WA- Police Arrest Local Man for Bomb Threat. On August 29th, 2019 at 09:40 AM, Mason County 911 received a phone call stating there had been a “bomb” planted at the Shelton Department of Corrections field office on N. 4th Street.  The building was evacuated, closed down, and an explosive detecting K-9 was called to the scene.  No explosive was located, but the threat temporarily closed down streets, the Department of Corrections office, and affected nearby courthouse activities. 

Shelton Police Detectives arrested a 41-year-old Shelton man for making the bomb threat this afternoon, 10/9/2019.  The motives were personal and will not be released to the media.  Police will not be releasing the identity of the suspect, because he has not been formally charged by the Mason County Prosecutor.  The suspect has been booked into the Mason County Jail for Threats to Bomb.
