SHELTON – Starting Aug. 5, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will perform repairs on a portion of State Route 3 north of Shelton.

Crews will rebuild a portion of the roadbed following pavement settlement. The work on State Route 3 between Pickering Road and Krabbenhoft Road is expected to take four days, August 5-8, weather permitting.

Drivers can expect one-way alternating traffic and delays between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

WSDOT will temporarily reduce the speed limit from 55 mph to 40 mph and 25 mph between milepost 12 and 12.3. Drivers can also expect a temporary gravel southbound lane.

WSDOT officials encourage travelers to give themselves extra time to help prevent delays, and to slow down and pay attention when they are near any work zone.

What happened to the chip seal project on Pickering? Looks like Agate only was done.
