OLYMPIA — Police dealt with a string of assault cases in the past week with two ending in arrests and one still under investigation.
Olympia Police Department Lt. Paul Lower said in one of the arrests, the suspect struck victims with his skateboard during an argument. One victim tried to break up the fight when the suspect punched him in the face, causing him to fall and hit his head.
Another arrest involved an argument between roommates where the suspects struck the victim and injured her hand while prying car keys from it, according to Lower.
In another assault, officers referred charges on a suspect who struck two victims with an collapsible asp baton after a dispute over some tools. One of the victims struck the suspect with a shovel in self-defense, Lower said.
The suspects in another case accused the victim of stealing from them and hit her in the ear.
In another assault, a dispute over a bicycle ended with a suspect striking a victim with a skateboard, then fleeing the scene, Lower said.
