SHELTON –The Shelton Police Department has partnered with Walmart for their second annual “Shop With a Cop” event this Saturday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m. Walmart has again donated $5,000 for several local children to have the opportunity to shop for their families ahead of the holiday season.

30 children will be participating in this year’s event. Children were either identified by the Shelton School District or nominated by families.

Uniformed officers from the Shelton Police Department volunteer their time to partner with children while they shop. Santa Claus will also be present this year. Children will enjoy some cookies and milk when they have finished shopping and will also be able to wrap their gifts.

“We hope that this event will create memorable moments for our children as we start the holiday season,” said Shelton Police Captain Mike Fiola.
