SHELTON — Olympic Highway North will be closed from Monday to Friday for construction as part of Shelton's Downtown Connector Project between 7th Street and West C Street.

City officials said crews will be working on a series of stormwater drainage system improvements that will require trenches being dug across the road at various locations.  The temporary closure is to avoid potentially hazardous conditions because the contractor cannot safely cover the trenches with steel plates.

Olympic Highway North should reopen on Saturday, June 30, city officials said. Northcliff Road can be used as an alternate route during the closure.

The Shelton Timberland Library will still be accessible from West Birch Street.

City officials urge motorists to watch for lane and traffic changes, and obey all construction signs and flaggers.
