OLYMPIA — Police seek five suspects wanted in an attempted shooting the left a bullet hole in an external wall of Olympia City Hall.
Olympia police spokesman Paul Lower said at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday, officers received calls about gunshots heard in downtown Olympia near the Timberland Library at 7th Avenue and Jefferson Street.
Offices did not locate any signs of a shooting but found two witnesses closer to city hall and the police station at 4th Avenue and Cherry Street.
An officer also found two empty shell cartridges near city hall, according to Lower.
The witnesses saw three men confront a man and a woman near the intersection and during that confrontation a fight erupted.
The woman was knocked down on the street and the man she was with pulled a gun and began fire at the three men, Lower said.
Both witnesses said they were about a block away in different locations, westbound and northbound from incident, and heard raised voices in an argument and saw a fight erupt.
“It all happened super fast then they took off,” Lower said.
The men in confrontation were all described as adults with one wearing a white hoodie, blue jeans and dark shoes. Another was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a hat. The third male was wearing a white hoodie, witnesses told police.
