BELFAIR — A Belfair man faces a driving under the influence charge after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a power pole at State Route 106 early Monday morning.

It knocked out power to the area and blocked traffic for about five hours Sunday.

Washington State Patrol reports that Anthony I. Wilson, 24, was westbound on SR 106 about three miles south of Belfair when the 2019 Honda HRV he was driving struck and sheared off a power pole and “other objects” at about 12:30 a.m. Wilson was not injured.

The crash took place just west of the intersection of Highway 106 and Alderwood Road.

Mason PUD3 reports that power was restored at 6:15 a.m. Monday.

The outage affected 612 customers along 106, a portion of State Route 3, Rasor Road, Alderwood Place and nearby roadways, according to PUD 3.

PUD 3 linemen responded to make repairs and flaggers directed traffic through the work zone.
