OLYMPIA — Traveling through the Olympic National Forest next week? Be prepared for long delays. Road bridge inspections will be conducted at several locations on the Olympic National Forest starting next Thursday.  An Under Bridge Inspection Truck will be used to examine selected bridges.  

Bridges will be closed temporarily while the inspections are underway. Bridges will be opened approximately every 60 minutes during the inspection to allow for traffic low. Travelers are asked to plan alternate routes in the forest during inspections to avoid long delays. 

The bridges listed below with road numbers (RD) and Mile Posts (MP) will be closed as noted between July 18 and July 25. Travelers are advised to consider alternate routes and plans on the days noted.

• Humptulips Gorge Bridge, RD 2204 – MP 4.1 on 7/18 - 8 hour closure

• Skokomish Gorge Bridge, RD 2340 – MP 3.5 on 7/19– 11 hour closure

• Church Creek Bridge, RD 2361 – MP 3.5 on 7/20 – 1.5 hour closure

• South Fork Skokomish Bridge, RD 2353 – MP 0.6 on 7/20 – 4 hour closure

• Lower Canyon Bridge, RD 2368 – MP 5.5 on 7/22 – 2.5 hour closure

• Ring Creek Bridge, RD 2270 – MP 3.2 on 7/22 – 2 hour closure

• West Fork Humptulips Bridge, RD 2200 – MP 4.8 on 7/23 – 2 hour closure

• Rampage & Tea Creek Bridges, RD 2204 MP 12.6 & 14 on 7/23 – 2 hour closure

• South Fork Calawah Bridge, RD 2923 – MP 0.2 on 7/24 – 2.5 hour closure

• Sitkum Gorge Bridge, RD 2900070 – MP 0.1 on 7/24 – 2.5 hour closure

• Soleduck River Bridge, RD 2918 – MP 3.0 on 7/24 – 3 hour closure

• Dungeness Forks Bridge, RD 2880 – MP 1.0 on 7/25 – 1.5 hour closure
