UNDATED (AP) - The Pac-12 won't be kicking off football games in the morning this season, but the idea is not off the table. Pac-12 spokesman Andrew Walker says some schools are still interested in playing games that can be slotted into the noon Eastern time window by broadcast partner Fox. That means 9 a.m. kickoffs for the schools in the Pacific time zone and 10 a.m. in the Mountain time zone. Walker says further discussion is needed and the earliest any morning games would be scheduled is 2020.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) - None of the Seattle Seahawks' top three draft picks were on the practice field Wednesday. Wide receiver DK Metcalf underwent minor knee surgery and safety Marquise Blair is dealing with back spasms. The pair of second-round picks joined first-round selection L.J. Collier on the medical report.
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) - Kevin Kiermaier drove in four runs, including a solo homer during a two-run ninth inning, and the Tampa Bay Rays avoided a three-game sweep by beating the Seattle Mariners 7-6 on Wednesday. Kiermaier tied it at 6-all on a leadoff homer against Matt Magill (3-1). The Rays then loaded the bases before Magill's wild pitch allowed Willy Adames to score the winning run.
