SHELTON - Police say a Shelton man faces charges of unlawful imprisonment after firing a gun during a domestic violence dispute involving his wife.

Shelton Police Captain Mike Fiola says the ‘shots fired’ call came in at about 6p.m. on August 21. Police responded to a home in the 1400 block of Dearborne Avenue. Police say 59-year-old John Zyski was armed and holding his wife against her will during the dispute. However, police say Zyski never pointed the gun at his wife but he did starting shooting into the neighborhood after she escaped. Police say they don’t know if Zyski was taking aim at anything in particular when he fired the gun but they did find two shell casings in his yard.

Zyski was arrested, booked into Mason County Jail and has been charged with unlawful imprisonment. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues.
