BELFAIR - No ‘sibling of the year’ award for this driver. One of two twin sisters involved in an injury rollover wreck near Belfair Sunday night is on the run after leaving her injured sibling behind.

Washington Trooper Chelsea Hodgson says 29-year-old Kelly Sharp of Tahuya was at the wheel on SR 300 when she lost control of the car and hit a tree causing the rig to roll twice. Sharp fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.

Authorities suspect Sharp was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the wreck.

Sharp’s twin sister, Katie Sharp, was riding passenger in the vehicle. Kelly abandoned her sister despite Katie’s injuries. Katie was taken to Harrison Hospital in Bremerton for treatment.

Troopers say Kelly was driving too fast for conditions, she faces charges of hit-and-run.

Law enforcement is actively looking for Kelly.
