EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Oregon tight end Cam McCormick will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury. McCormick dressed and participated in warmups before the Ducks' games against Nevada and last week against Montana but did not play. It is the second straight season McCormick has been sidelined by injury. He sat out last year after breaking his leg in the season opener against Bowling Green.
SEATTLE (AP) - The arena for Seattle's NHL expansion franchise remains on track to open sometime in the summer of 2021. Construction officials say that the entire bowl of the former KeyArena has been demolished and excavation work is ongoing. Officials hope to spend most of 2020 constructing the new seating bowl from the bottom up.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A person familiar with the situation says Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been diagnosed with a torn ligament near the thumb of his throwing hand that is expected to sideline him at least six weeks. The person says Brees has elected to have surgery. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Monday because the diagnosis has not been announced.
