TUMWATER — The Oly Town Artesians kicked off their Washington State Super Cup campaign with a resounding 7-0 win over the ISC Gunners from Issaquah at Black Hills High School Sunday afternoon.
Jason Fairhurst scored twice and Angel Trejo-Delgado and Geovanny Vazquez each scored once and added an assist for the Artesians.
Oly got things rolling right away when Olympia High School grad Neil Boyal scored his first goal in his first game for the club slotting one home in the tenth minute. Nine minutes later Trejo-Delgado made it 2-0 after finishing a pass from Vazquez. The Artesians kept the pressure high and Trejo-Delgado intercepted a pass from ISC goalkeeper Sean Snyder and found a streaking Fairhurst who scored on the empty net to make it 3-0 in the 30th minute.
In the 62nd minute, after just subbing in moments earlier, Shelton’s Manny Nicasio unleashed a bullet from 35 yards out that found the top corner and made it 4-0. Oly Town would add 3 more goals in the contest for the 7-0 shutout victory.
The Artesians advanced to the semifinals with their next opponent to be determined. They will face either Nido Aguila Club America, Kirkland FC or the Grays Harbor Gulls in the next round.
Oly Town returns to EPLWA action on Sunday, hosting Bellingham United.
