TACOMA — The Shelton Girls Bowling team impressed at the 3A State Championships over the weekend at Narrows Plaza Bowl in University Place.

The Highclimbers finished sixth overall in the team score with a 6,695 pin total.

Dreann Merriman placed 8th overall in individual scoring, with a 1,065 five-game pin total. Merriman posted a high-bowl of 206 in her second game.

Kaylee Slone placed 16th overall for the highclimbers, posting a 1,027 pin total. Alyssia Paz placed 39th with 903 pins. Courtney Chamberlin finished 42nd, recording 884 pins. Abbigail Stone placed 48th for Shelton, with 821 pins.

Evergreen High School won the 3A team championship, recording 7,924 pins. Evergreen’s Kerissa Andersen placed first overall in the individual competition with 1,271 pins.
