Shelton's Dreann Merriman

LACEY — Shelton High School’s Dreann Merriman shot an opening round score of 94 to advance to day two of the 3A State Golf Championships.

Merriman currently sits in a tie for 44th after her round one score. The tournament is being played at Hawks Prairie Golf Course in Lacey.

Merriman’s round two tee times gets underway at 8:57 a.m.

Two Shelton golfers competed on the men’s side at the 3A state tournament at Indian Summer Country Club in Lacey.

Shelton’s Dalton Edwards entered the 3A tournament as a state alternate. Edwards qualified for competition and shot a first round score of 84. Edwards is currently tied for 44th in competition. Edwards day two tee time is set at 11:06 a.m.

Shelton’s Jonah Perry shot a first round score of 90 at Indian Summer. Perry did not advance to day two of the state championships.
