SEATTLE- The University of Washington Huskies had a breakout year in men’s basketball, running away with the Pac-12 league crown and earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament. If this recruiting class is any indication, the Huskies are on the rise and not a flash in the pan.
Federal Way High School power forward, Jaden McDaniels, announced on Tuesday that he would be signing with the University of Washington. McDaniels is ranked the No. 7 overall recruit by ESPN and Rivals.com and he’s not too far behind at No. 8 on 247 Sports rankings. In all three lists he’s considered to be the best power forward prospect in the nation.
McDaniels joins a team that center Isaiah Stewart signed with back in January. Stewart himself is ranked No. 3 by ESPN and 247 Sports and No. 2 by Rivals.
The two outstanding recruits have bolstered the Huskies recruiting class, making it a Top 15 class in the nation, across recruiting circles.
McDaniels helped lead his high school team to a third-place finish in state his senior year. He joins a team that is coming off of an 15-3 record in the Pac-12 and its first NCAA Tournament win since 2011.
